Umbraco is an Asp.Net based Content Management System. It has many pieces and configuration elements.

Recycle/Refresh
While I have been working on the Merchello Package, I've learned some ways to cycle Umbraco if something isn't working right.

  1. Touch Web.Config
  2. Reindex Examine Indexes via Back Office
  3. Delete files in \App_Data\Temp
  4. Republish content node or entire content tree.

    I it really a nice and useful information by you Dina, i did not know about Umbraco earlier, but now i will try to work upon it.

Code samples for Advanced C# Programming by Paul Kimmel

Over this week I was wanting to look at some code samples for PerfMon in C#. I found a lot pages referencing a PerfMon.sln, including on MSDN – but no one could find the source code.  The above book ( http://www.mhprofessional.com/product.php?isbn=0072228288 ) had an entire chapter on it and was available as a eBook.   After a few emails back and forth with McGraw-Hill Education, they finally sent me a downloadable location for the source:   http://www.softconcepts.com/Books/Source/Advanced%20C%23%20Programming.zip   I suspect other folks would appreciate getting access to the samples!   The purpose of getting the code samples was to build a check box tree to select the counters that I wanted to include in SQL Server Management Data Warehouse (aka SQL Server Performance Studio) so it’s a click the counter, click a button and you are logging those counters in your MDW database.

Error : /ScriptResource.axd : Invalid viewstate.

This issue is caused when the ScriptResource.axd querystring parameters can not be decoded on the server. This error can be caused from multiple issues with server configuration or the Browser's interaction with the server. The ScriptResource.axd contains all of the clientside javascript routines for Ajax. Just because you include a scriptmanager that loads a script file it will never appear as a ScriptResource.AXD - instead it will be merely passed as the .js file you send if you reference a external script file. In other words it is what the Microsoft Ajax libraries inject into your HTML to allow them to access their javascript functions they need for page manipulation. ASP.NET will use the machine key to encrypt the ScriptResource.axd (and webresource.axd) url's parameters(in querystring), and by default the machinekey is a randomly generated one which may involve the current time.
